A Chat with Abhimanyu – Villa Morjim
We recently had a chat with Abhimanyu Bansal of Villa Morjim on what he loves about Goa. Read below for an insider’s perspective on what to enjoy in the sunshine state of India. There are some really good food recommendations here.
Q: When is your favourite time to go to Goa?
Abhimanyu: The monsoons, particularly in the first week of August are gorgeous. There are random showers and beautiful skies. The temperature is perfect and Goa is quiet and green. The life sparks in the non-beach belt of Goa with the more sophisticated Goa resident crowd and their friends visiting in from the other cities. The local restaurants are buzzing and the restaurant row of Assagaon is packed each day.
——
Q: What is a typical Goa vacation for you?
Abhimanyu: Spending time at Villa Morjim and cooking! The produce and seafood is unbelievable and I love going to Mapusa to shop for lunch. The evenings are spent at Burger Factory, Morjim Beach as it has the best sunset vibe.

Q. What are your favourite restaurants that guests of Villa Morjim will like?
Abhimanyu: Some of my favourite restaurants are Gunpowder, Jardin Dúlysses, Bistro Botanique, Starlight cafe, Baba Au Rhum, Sublime, Black Market and Norhonas food truck!
——
Q. According to you, what is a Goa State of mind?
Abhimanyu: Take a moment and see Goa come alive post sunset time in the smaller towns and markets. The hustle and the energy at that hour is a Goa State of mind!
——
Q. What can one expect from a stay at Villa Morjim?
Abhimanyu: A transformation into a world where time does not matter coupled with probably the best view in North Goa.
——
